The 98 existing types in this series include single row angular contact ball bearings that combine the outstanding bearing characteristics of the ULTAGE brand with the NTN-SNR quality mark. The mark stands for high purity of the bearing steel, optimised design, high axial load carrying capacity and speeds up to 1.9 million N/dm.
"The combination of load capacity and speed determines the efficiency of the machine spindle," confirms Fanny Martins.
In addition to their high performance and robustness, the special features of these bearings include polyamide cages with a special design that contribute to optimised and effective lubrication of the bearings. Two innovations in the cages are the conical rolling element compartments and the vertical grooves in the cages, which on the one hand facilitate the circulation of air-oil lubrication and on the other hand better retain the lubricant. This design also significantly reduces the risk of the cage overheating at high speeds.
Targeted product range tailored to market needs
The NTN ULTAGE high precision bearings for machine tools cover a wide size range with two series - 7 000 and 7 900 - and is available in versions with bore diameters from 10 to 130 mm and with two contact angles - 15° and 25°.
"These products cover about 60% of the total European demand for machine tool bearings," says Fanny Martins.
The NTN-SNR product range, which is manufactured in a standardised and universal design, allows these bearings to be combined in all possible variants for machine spindles.
