Caps or protective caps provide additional operational safety.
Stainless steel or plastic versions are available in a closed version for shaft ends and an open version for continuous shafts with a standard two-lip seal or made of silicone rubber.
Rubber Seating Rings

Rubber seating rings of various designs are placed between the bearing outer ring and the housing receptacle. The rubber rings dampen running noises, shocks and vibrations and give the unit additional scope to compensate for shaft movements.
In addition, a radial insert ball bearing with a rubber seating ring can be used as a plastic jacket on the bearing outer ring as a roller with an elastic tread, which also ensures quiet, smooth running and protects the mating surface.
