High Load Capacity Linear Guides
This family of Nadella products consists of low cost, very robust, simple and easy to install steel linear guidance systems that can withstand high loads and the movement of carriages and tables at high speeds, all with the highest reliability even in aggressive environments. Typical applications include metallurgy, rolling mills and sheet metal stamping equipment, transport systems, automated storage and handling systems. Typically, these linear systems consist of high-strength GU (trapezoidal profile) and GP (rectangular profile) guides and FS and FSH (V-shaped profile) guides made of cold-drawn bearing steel with induction-hardened working surfaces, which can be supplied with either sandblasted or ground finishes.
The design of the guide rollers in the carriages of these linear systems is based on ball bearings, needle roller bearings or tapered roller bearings to provide customers with the widest possible range of system load capacities at different price levels. In addition, the guide rollers have a very robust cylindrical or V-shaped concave outer ring with ground raceways.
Within the range of carriages for these linear guidance systems, the well-known Rolbloc series deserves special attention due to its high load capacity. Rolbloc carriages are designed for use with GU trapezoidal profile guides and consist of a steel prismatic support structure with one or two pairs of rollers with a cylindrical outer ring mounted on trunnions whose axes are perpendicular to the sides of the prism.
Rolbloc carriages combined with GU trapezoidal guideways, which allow the rollers to roll smoothly, result in well guided systems with high positioning accuracy. This heavy duty design with fast and quiet running of the carriages has enabled a wide range of different applications to be covered. Rolbloc slides are particularly suitable for linear handling of heavy loads with high acceleration, typical of steel making equipment, as well as other heavy industrial applications.
Linear slides for medium and light loads
This Nadella product family is a well-structured system of extruded aluminium linear guides with one or two hardened steel cylindrical bars embedded in them, which act as raceways for the profiled guide rollers of the carriage. The combination of two materials in these guides has enabled the company to take full advantage of their key characteristics and manufacturing technology. On the one hand, it is a lightweight aluminium alloy construction and, on the other, the raceways have increased hardness and a perfect finish on the working surfaces thanks to the integrated steel shafts. These linear guides are designed for use in applications with medium to light loads and aggressive environments such as wood dust, metal swarf, etc.
In order to cover a wide range of applications, Nadella's linear systems have been designed with different geometric guide configurations, such as the "DC" type, which is a complete guide with two laterally integrated steel guide shafts as raceways and a rectangular aluminium body, or the "C" type with a square aluminium body and a single steel guide rod as raceway, which is usually used when required.
Other components of linear systems in this category include compact railguide type FWS with two integral steel shafts or type FWH with a single rod, complete railguide type LM with two steel rods and U-shaped rail body, compact railguide type FWN with square profile and 2 lateral steel shafts and interchangeable dimensions according to DIN645 standards. The carriages for these systems contain three or more rollers made of hardened and ground steel with an arcuate gothic profile of the outer working surface, with protective washers and seals and filled with long-life grease.
