Mechanical motion sequences do not work without friction. But continuous supply of the right lubricant reduces sliding friction to a minimum, thereby avoiding damage, extending service life and increasing operational reliability.
Lubricant does e.g. in the case of rolling bearings, additional tasks such as corrosion protection, heat dissipation from the bearing, protection of the bearing against contamination, damping of bearing noise and supports the sealing effect of the bearing seals.
In addition to common standards, special products are available for extreme operating conditions: for high and low temperatures, high speeds or high pressure, working under the influence of water, weather or chemicals, for high hygiene requirements and certain material compatibility.
